Hawaii gas price averages increased over the past week throughout most of the islands, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The state average of $3.92 is unchanged for the third week in a row, two cents less than last month and four cents less than on this day last year.
Honolulu’s average price is $3.80 a gallon for regular unleaded – down one cent from last week, a nickel less than last month and nine cents less than a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.92 per gallon, seven cents more than last week, seven cents more than last month and three cents less than this time a year ago. Wailuku’s average is $4.20 a gallon, four cents more than last week, a penny more than last month and 19 cents less on this day last year.
“A snapshot of monthly price averages around the country show Alaska at $3.63 a gallon for unleaded, California at $3.61, Oklahoma at $2.98 and Montana at $3.00,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.
