Hawaii gas prices have remained stable over the past week in most areas, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The average regular unleaded gas price for Hawaii is $4.79, which is the same as last week. The average national price is $3.84, which is four cents higher than last Thursday.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $4.67, which is the same as last week, 12 cents higher than last month, and 56 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $4.88, which is one cent lower than last week, 13 cents higher than last month, and 39 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price of $4.83 is one cent lower than last week, two cents higher than last month, and 70 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $5.29 which is the same as last week, nine cents higher than last month, and 38 cents lower than a year ago.
“Oil prices hold steady and will continue to reduce upward pressure at the pump around the U.S.,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Drivers in Hawaii are paying 30 to 70 cents less for gas than a year ago today.”
