Hawaii gas prices increased by two cents in most regions of the state during the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.35 a gallon, which is up two cents from last Thursday. In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.19, which is up two cents from a week ago, eight cents higher than last month, and 34 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.51, which is unchanged from last week, four cents higher than last month, and 26 cents less than on this date a year ago. In Kahului, the average price is $3.55, which is two cents higher compared to last week, six cents higher than last month, and 29 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.66, which is two cents higher than last week, four cents higher than last month and 24 cents lower than a year ago today. “Oil prices seem to have stopped rising for now, and our prices reflect the stall with smaller increases compared to last week,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Hawaii’s average price is the second highest state average in the nation.
