Gas Prices Dropping Again

Hawaii residents and visitors continue to enjoy cheaper gasoline and fatter wallets this fall, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.  The current state price average for a gallon of regular is $3.83, five cents less than the past week, 20 cents less than last month, and a dime lower than a year ago.

 

Honolulu’s average price of $3.72 dropped by six cents a gallon last week and is 20 cents less than last month and 11 cents less on this date a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.73 per gallon, down nine cents from last week, 26 cents less than last month and 12 cents less than this time a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $4.11 a gallon, down two cents from last Thursday, 18 cents lower than last month and seven cents lower on this date last year.  

 

“Oil prices are falling fast and helping Hawaii motorists and drivers around the nation at the retail pump and with family budgets again this week,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “State average prices around the country continue to drop dramatically with: Alaska at $3.48 a gallon, California at $3.03, Delaware at $2.78 and South Carolina at $2.49. Many states now show averages in the mid-$2 a gallon range on www.fuelgaugereport.aaa.com.”
