Hawaii gas prices slipped slightly again over the past week, while prices in the rest of the country continued to fall more substantially, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.  The current state price average is $4.30, a penny less from the past week, three cents less from over the past month, and four cents lower than a year ago.

Honolulu’s average price dripped down by two cents since last week to $4.26.  The price is a nickel less than on this date a month ago and two cents more than a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.10 per gallon, down a penny from last week, four cents less than last month ago and 18 cents less than this time a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $4.44 a gallon, unchanged since last Thursday, two cents lower than last month and 10 cents less than last year.

“Another week has gone by and we’re down a few more cents a gallon at the retail pump,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “Residents should continue fuel-saving measures like keeping their cars in good shape and driving the posted speed limit to get the best fuel economy they can.”
