Hawaii gas prices slipped slightly over the past week, while prices in the rest of the country continued to fall more substantially, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.  The current state price average is $4.31, a penny less than the past week, three cents less than last month, and four cents lower than a year ago.

Honolulu’s average price dipped down by two cents from last week to $4.28.  The price is four cents less than on this date a month ago and four cents more than a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.11 per gallon, down three cents from last week, three cents less than a month ago and 23 cents less than this time a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $4.44 a gallon, unchanged since last Thursday, two cents lower than last month and 12 cents less than last year.

“Hawaii motorists are just beginning to see this past week some slight price dips at the retail pump,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “Residents should continue to follow fuel-saving measures like consolidating errands, using a moderate driving style and shopping for the best fuel price whenever possible to ease any strain on their wallets.”
