The Aloha State enjoyed another week of lower gas prices. According to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch, the current state average for a gallon of regular is $3.04, a nickel less than last week, 38 cents less than last month, and $1 a gallon lower than a year ago.
Honolulu’s average gas price today is $2.93, dipping by a penny a gallon since last week, down 34 cents from last month and $1.01 less than on this date a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.02 per gallon, down eight cents from last week, 33 cents less than last month and 93 cents less than this time a year ago. Wailuku’s average is $3.21 a gallon, down 11 cents from last week, 46 cents lower than last month and $1.01 less on this date last year.
“Honolulu motorists enjoyed savings at the retail pump again this week,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “But average gas prices on the mainland have shifted upward for the past 2-3 weeks and only Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming remain under $2 a gallon now. Motorists can locate prices here and on the mainland at www.fuelgaugereport.aaa.com.”
