The state price average for a gallon of gasoline dropped again this past week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The current state average for a gallon of regular is $3.29, eight cents less than last week, 29 cents less than last month, and 72 cents lower than a year ago.
Honolulu’s average price of $3.13 dropped by eight cents a gallon since last week and is 34 cents less than last month and 77 cents less than on this date a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.27 per gallon, down four cents from last week, 28 cents less than last month and 71 cents less than this time a year ago. Wailuku’s average is $3.58 a gallon, down seven cents from last week, 21 cents lower than last month and 66 cents less on this date last year.
“Hawaii motorists enjoyed lower prices again this week,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “But Hawaii remains the only state above $3 a gallon while state average prices in a majority of the states on the mainland fell below $2 a gallon on www.fuelgaugereport.aaa.com.”
