Hawaii average gas prices continued to fall this past week, with Honolulu dropping to $4 per gallon, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.  The current state price average is $4.11, four cents less than the past week, 14 cents less than last month, and four cents lower than a year ago.

Honolulu’s average price dropped by five cents from last week to $4.00 a gallon.  The price is 21 cents less than on this date a month ago and six cents less on this date a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $4.03 per gallon, down three cents from last week, six cents less than last month and nine cents less than this time a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $4.37 a gallon, down two cents from last Thursday, five cents lower than last month and a penny lower than on this date last year.

“Rapidly dropping oil prices and sufficient gasoline supply continue to push prices lower in Hawaii and throughout the nation,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “We haven’t seen prices this low in Honolulu since March 1 of this year.”
