Hawaii average gas prices continued to drop this past week, with Honolulu slipping four cents to $3.93 per gallon, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The current state price average is $4.03, a nickel less than the past week, 17 cents less than last month, and seven cents lower than a year ago.
Honolulu’s average price today is 20 cents less than on this date a month ago and six cents less on this date a year ago. In Hilo, the average gas price is $3.97 per gallon, down one cent from last week, eight cents less than last month and eight cents less than this time a year ago. Wailuku’s average is $4.30 a gallon, down four cents from last Thursday, 10 cents lower than last month and the same price on this date last year.
“Average gasoline prices continue to drop in Hawaii and throughout the nation,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “A snapshot of state average prices around the country show: Alaska at $3.73 a gallon, California at $3.34, and Wyoming at $3.29. We continue to encourage Hawaii drivers to use a moderate driving style, keep their car maintained and shop around for the best price to maximize their fuel efficiency.”
