AAA Hawaii: Pump Prices Drop During Holiday Week

As the nation gathers shortly to observe Thanksgiving, Hawaii pump prices mostly declined throughout the islands during the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $2.85, which is four cents lower than last Wednesday, four cents lower than a month ago, and three cents higher than on this date a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com 

 

In Honolulu, today’s average price is $2.73, which is three cents lower than last Wednesday, four cents less than on this date last month and three cents higher than last year.  The Hilo average price is $2.78, which is down six cents since last Wednesday, two cents lower than last month and eight cents higher than on this date a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $3.30, which is one cent lower than last Wednesday, one cent less than on this date last month and one cent more than on this date a year ago.

 

“Hawaii motorists continue to enjoy price dips of the past few weeks,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.  “Gas prices in the West continue to be the highest in the country with Hawaii at $2.85, California at $2.68, Washington at $2.61, Alaska at $2.61, Oregon at $2.43, and Nevada at $2.45,” she added.
