AAA Hawaii: Gas Prices Inch Down A Little More

Gas prices in most parts of the state moved down slightly again the past week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $3.07, which is down two cents from last  Thursday, three cents lower than a month ago, and 52 cents higher than on this date a year ago, according to 


In Honolulu, today’s average price is $2.94, which is one cent less than last Thursday, three cents less than on this date last month and 61 cents higher than last year.  The Hilo average price is $3.03, which is three cents less than last Thursday, which is two cents lower than on this date last month and 50 cents higher than on this date a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $3.51, unchanged since last Thursday, the same price on this date last month and 41 cents above this date a year ago.


“California and Hawaii are now the only two states with an average price at or above $3 a gallon,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.  “The nation’s most expensive markets are: Hawaii ($3.07), California ($3.00), Washington, ($2.82), Alaska ($2.80) and Nevada ($2.62),” she added.
