AAA Hawaii: Gas Prices Dip Leading into Holiday

Approaching the Thanksgiving holiday, Hawaii pump prices declined throughout the islands during the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $2.89, which is a penny lower than last Thursday, three cents higher than a month ago, and five cents higher on this date a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com 

In Honolulu, today’s average price is $2.76, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, three cents more than on this date last month and five cents higher than last year.  The Hilo average price is $2.84, which is down a penny since last Thursday, five cents higher than last month and 12 cents higher than on this date a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $3.29, which is two cents lower than last Thursday, the same price on this date last month and three cents more than on this date a year ago.

“Pump prices have fallen for more than a week across the country and even Hawaii motorists are enjoying a price dip since last week,” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida.  “Gas prices in the West continue to be the highest in the country with Hawaii at $2.89, California at $2.72, Washington at $2.65, Alaska at $2.62, Oregon at $2.46, and Nevada at $2.49,” she added.
