AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch: Prices Dip

Statewide gas prices declined slightly over the past week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $2.61, two cents less than a week ago, six cents less than last month and 43 cents less than a year ago, according to the AAA Fuel Gauge Report. 

 

In Honolulu, today’s average price is $2.43, which is two cents less than last week, eight cents less than last month and 50 cents lower than last year.  The Hilo average price is $2.56, down two cents from last Thursday, a penny lower than last month and 46 cents lower than on this date a year ago.  Wailuku’s average is $3.13, one cent lower since last week, two cents less than last month and 20 cents less than at this time last year.

 

“Hawaii ($2.61) leads the market with a pump price that is double-digits above second-place California ($2.45),” said AAA Hawaii General Manager Liane Sumida. “Regional neighbors Alaska ($2.31), Nevada ($2.14) and Washington ($2.06) join in the rankings and round out the nation’s top five most expensive markets for retail gasoline.”
