In Kahului, the average price is $4.12, which is four cents higher than last Thursday, five cents higher than on this date last month and 59 cents higher than on this date a year ago.  Lihue’s average price for regular is $4.02, which is four cents higher than last Thursday, six cents higher on this date last month and 66 cents more than a year ago. “Last week’s Energy Information Administration weekly petroleum status report stated that in the western United States, motor gasoline stocks fell by a sizeable one million barrels to 27.9 million barrels,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.  “Stocks are 800,000 barrels lower than where they were at this time last year, which could lead to price volatility if there are any supply shocks in the region this week.”
