Today’s statewide average price is $3.62 a gallon, which is two cents higher than last Thursday, 17 cents higher than a month ago and one cent more than a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.51, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, 17 cents higher than on this date a month ago and three cents higher than on this date last year. The Hilo average price is $3.73, which is up one cent from last Thursday, 18 cents higher than on this date last month and seven cents higher than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $3.82, which is unchanged since last Thursday, eight cents higher than on this date last month and 15 cents lower than on this date a year ago.  Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.83, which is unchanged since last Thursday, 17 cents higher than on this date last month and seven cents higher than a year ago today.  Wailuku’s average is $3.82, which is unchanged since last Thursday, eight cents higher than on this date a month ago and 15 cents lower than on this date a year ago.

“The Energy Information Administration’s weekly report showed that West Coast gasoline stocks fell for the sixth week by nearly 300,000 barrels and now sit at 27.9 million barrels,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.  “With tightened gas stocks, motorists have felt an increasing squeeze on their wallets at the pump.  These increases mean Americans must work more to afford to fill-up their gas tanks. AAA found that Americans must work 22% longer than at the start of the year to buy one gallon of unleaded gasoline – that’s 7.3 minutes compared to 5.76 minutes in January.”

Motorists can find current gas prices along their route with the free AAA Mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The app can also be used to map a route, find AAA discounts, book a hotel and access AAA Roadside Assistance. Learn more at AAA.com/mobile.
