Hawaii gas prices continued the pace of the last few weeks - decreasing slightly in some areas while increasing slightly in others, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price is $3.77 a gallon, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, two cents higher than a month ago and 67 cents more than a year ago, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular is $3.63, which is unchanged since last Thursday, one cent higher than on this date a month ago and 68 cents higher than on this date last year. The Hilo average price is $3.86, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, four cents more than on this date last month and 75 cents higher than on this date a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price is $4.06, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, the same price on this date last month and 53 cents higher than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.98, which is one cent higher than last Thursday, two cents higher on this date last month and 62 cents more than a year ago. Wailuku’s average is $4.06, which is one cent lower than last Thursday, and is the same price on this date a month ago and 54 cents higher than on this date a year ago.
“Last week’s Energy Information Administration report showed West Coast gasoline supplies sit at 28.3 million barrels, which is 2 million barrels higher than the same week last year,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Retail prices locally remain relatively flat compared to last week, moistly one-cent price declines or flat throughout most of the islands.”
