Hawaii gas prices increased in most areas during the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.30 a gallon, which is up one penny from last Thursday.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.13, which is up one cent from a week ago, four cents higher than last month, and 41 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.50, which is one cent lower than last week, four cents higher than last month, and 28 cents less than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $3.53, which is three cents higher than last week, five cents higher than last month, and 31 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.67, which is two cents higher than last week, six cents higher than last month and 22 cents lower than a year ago today.

“Crude oil internationally is at its highest price level in nearly a year, and that is finally pushing up prices despite continued low demand in many parts of the state,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.
