Hawaii gas prices remained unchanged in most regions of the state during the last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.35 a gallon, which is unchanged from last Thursday.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.18, which is down a penny from a week ago, eight cents higher than last month, and 32 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.51, which is unchanged from last week, five cents higher than last month, and 24 cents less than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $3.55, which is unchanged compared to last week, three cents higher than last month, and 28 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.66, which is unchanged from last week, four cents higher than last month and 20 cents lower than a year ago today.

“While most of the nation saw gas prices continue to climb, lower demand and stable oil prices have kept Hawaii prices flat for now,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.  “This morning international oil prices started to climb again, so we may see a change in local gas prices in coming days.”
