Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.36 a gallon, which is up a penny from last Thursday and eight cents higher than a month ago.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.19, which is up a penny from a week ago, seven cents higher than last month, and 27 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.52, which is up a penny from last week, five cents higher than last month, and 21 cents less than on this date a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price is $3.55, which is unchanged compared to last week, five cents higher than last month, and 28 cents lower than on this date a year ago. “Many regions of the rest of the country are approaching pre-pandemic gas price levels, while Hawaii is seeing a more gradual increase,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Internationally, oil prices are at their highest level since January 2020, but Hawaii’s gas price average remains 25 cents below last year at this time.”
