Hawaii gas prices remained unchanged or moved by a penny over the past week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.24 a gallon, which is one cent less than last week, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.07 per gallon, which is unchanged for two consecutive weeks, two cents more than a month ago and 48 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.48, which is the same as last week and a month ago, and 28 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price is $3.48, which is one cent less than last week, one cent lower than last month, and 39 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.60, which is one cent higher than a week ago, the same price as last month and 28 cents lower than a year ago today.
“Gas prices in our state have remained remarkably consistent relative to local demand,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “We will see how prices react when travel begins to open up later this month.”
