The average national price is $3.08, which is five cents higher than last week and two cents lower than a year ago.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded gas is $4.38, which is one cent lower than last week and seven cents lower than a year ago. The Hilo average gas price is $4.64, which is one cent lower than last week and 13 cents lower than a year ago.

“Drivers in California are paying nearly $5 a gallon in some areas after recent increases, while prices in Hawaii have remained steady,” said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii.
