The AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch reports that gas prices are slightly increasing in many cities across the state. The statewide average price for regular unleaded is $4.54, one cent higher than last week and thirteen cents less than a year ago. The national average gas price is $3.06, the same as last week.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded gas is $4.44, one cent higher than last week and eight cents less than a year ago. The Hilo average gas price is $4.65, the same las week and thirteen cents lower than a year ago.
The average price in Kahului is $4.59, three cents higher than last week and 21 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price is $5.20, three cents higher than last week and one cent lower than a year ago.
"Gas prices are seeing a modest increase, although there are some minor fluctuations in certain regions,” said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii. AAA members can take advantage of discounted gas prices at participating Shell gas stations by joining the Shell Fuel Rewards® program
