The AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch reports that gas prices are holding steady in many cities across the state. The statewide average price for regular unleaded is $4.53, the same as last week and 13 cents lower than a year ago. The national average gas price is $3.06, two cents higher than last week.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded gas is $4.44, the same as last week and nine cents lower than last year. The Hilo average gas price is $4.64, the same last week and ten cents lower than a year ago.
The average price in Kahului is $4.59, three cents higher than last week and 13 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price is $5.17, one cent higher than last week and three cents lower than a year ago.
"Gas prices are seeing a modest decline, although there are some minor fluctuations in certain regions,” said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii. AAA members can take advantage of discounted gas prices at participating Shell gas stations by joining the Shell Fuel Rewards® program
