Hawaii drivers saw little change to gas prices in the past week as crude oil prices worldwide have remained lower than they were in 2022, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. The average regular unleaded gas price for Hawaii is $4.82, which is the same as last week. The average national price is $3.49, which is five cents higher than last Thursday.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $4.72, which is the same as last week, eight cents lower than last month, and 35 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $4.81, which is also unchanged from last week, five cents lower than last month, and 41 cents lower than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price of $4.90 is one cent higher than last week, one cent higher than last month and 37 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $5.28, which is the same as last week, two cents lower than last month, and ten cents lower than a year ago.

“Hawaii’s average gas price statewide continues to be just one cent lower than California, which has the highest average gas price in the U.S.,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.

AAA members can take advantage of discounted gas prices at participating Shell gas stations by joining the Shell Fuel Rewards® program.
