The AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch states that gas prices are holding steady. The statewide average price for regular unleaded is $4.59, which is the same as last week and 17 cents lower than a year ago. The national average gas price is $3.13, which is two cents less than last week.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $4.48, one cent less than last week and fourteen cents lower than last year. The Hilo average gas price is $4.76, two cents lower than last week and 12 cents lower than a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price is $4.63, which is one cent lower than last week and 19 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price is $5.21, one cent les than last week and six cents lower than a year ago.
"Gas prices are remaining stable, though there are minor fluctuations in some cities," said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii. AAA members can take advantage of discounted gas prices at participating Shell gas stations by joining the Shell Fuel Rewards® program
