Average gas prices in most regions remained flat compared to last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch.  The average price for Hawaii is $4.08, which is unchanged from last week.  The average national price is $3.18, also unchanged from last week.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $4.00, which is up a penny from a week ago, down one cent from last month, and 84 cents higher than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $4.13, which is the same price for five consecutive weeks, one cent higher than last month, and 66 cents higher than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $4.11, which is down two cents compared to last week, four cents higher than last month, and 62 cents higher than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $4.32, which is unchanged for three weeks, one cent higher than last month and 73 cents higher than a year ago today.

“Stable oil prices seem to have kept gasoline prices relatively flat,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Going into the fall, we would expect more of the same.”
