According to the latest AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch, gas prices have held steady in most cities throughout the state over the past week. This stability comes even as the rest of the nation experiences a modest uptick in average fuel prices. The statewide average price for regular unleaded is $4.46, which is the same as last week. The average national price is $3.20, which is eight cents higher than last week and 24 cents less than a year ago.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded gas is $4.38, which is one cent higher than last week and 21 cents lower than a year ago. The Hilo average gas price is $4.62, which is one cent lower than last week and 24 cents lower than a year ago.
The average price in Kahului is $4.49, which is eight cents higher than last week and 29 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price is $5.03, the same as last week and 20 cents lower than a year ago.
