Hawaii gas prices continue to stay in the same narrow range, with little change week over week. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.26 a gallon, which is one cent more than last week, five cents higher than last month and 40 cents lower than at this time last year, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.

In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.07 per gallon, which is one cent higher than last week, one cent more than a month ago and 46 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.49, which is one cent more than last week, two cents more than a month ago and 29 cents lower than on this date a year ago.

In Kahului, the average price is $3.50, which is two cents higher than last week, three cents higher than last month, and 34 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.61, which is two cents higher than a week ago, three cents higher than last month and 24 cents lower than a year ago today.

“Our state’s gas price average, while staying steady, is the highest in the nation and about 32 percent higher than the national average,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager. “Remember that the prices noted by AAA are averages.  Car owners should look for lower gas prices than the average by using an online gas price shopping tool like the AAA Mobile app.”

Motorists can find current gas prices along their route with the free AAA Mobile app for iPhone, iPad and Android. The app can also be used to map a route, find AAA discounts, book a hotel and access AAA Roadside Assistance. Learn more at AAA.com/Mobile.
