Hawaii gas increased slightly in most regions compared to last week, according to the AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch. Today’s statewide average price for regular unleaded is $3.26 a gallon, which is one cent more than last week, according to GasPrices.AAA.com.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded is $3.07 per gallon, which is unchanged for four consecutive weeks, a penny more than a month ago and 48 cents lower than the price on this date last year. The Hilo average gas price is $3.50, which is one cent more than last week, four cents more than a month ago and 27 cents lower than on this date a year ago.
In Kahului, the average price is $3.52, a penny higher than last week, three cents higher than last month, and 32 cents lower than on this date a year ago. Lihue’s average price for regular is $3.62, which is two cents higher than a week ago, two cents higher than last month and 27 cents lower than a year ago today.
“We’ve seen Hawaii gas prices remain in the same relative place for many weeks, but with some parts of the state opening up to increased inbound travel, we’ll have to see how much demand increases,” said Liane Sumida, AAA Hawaii general manager.
