The AAA Hawaii Weekend Gas Watch reports that gas prices dropped over the past week throughout the state and nationwide.. The statewide average price for regular unleaded is $4.46, which is one cent less than last week. The average national price is $3.12, which is two cents lower than last week and 33 cents less than a year ago.
In Honolulu, today’s average price for regular unleaded gas is $4.37, which is two cents less than last week and 26 cents lower than a year ago. The Hilo average gas price is $4.63, which is three cents lower than last week and 23 cents lower than a year ago.
The average price in Kahului is $4.41, which six cents lower than last week and 38 cents lower than a year ago. Lihue’s average regular price is $5.03, one cent less than last week and 22 cents lower than a year ago.
"At $4.46, the statewide average gas price in Hawaii today is at its lowest level of 2025, but the average price has never risen above $4.55 all year,”, said Liane Sumida, general manager of AAA Hawaii. AAA members can take advantage of discounted gas prices at participating Shell gas stations by joining the Shell Fuel Rewards® program.
